Gospel Songs to Remember the Late ‘Queen of Soul’, Aretha Franklin

Aretha Franklin, also known as the ‘Queen of Soul’, has blessed the world with her beautiful music. She’s not just known for her worldwide hits like ‘Respect’ ‘Say A Little Prayer’ and ‘(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman’, she was also known as a legendary gospel singer.

Being a child of a minister, Aretha Franklin, basically grew up in a church where she discovered her gift for music. Her primary influence in singing was her faith in God and it is undeniably reflected in her songs.

However, just last August 16, 2018, her 7-year battle with pancreatic cancer has finally ended. Aretha Franklin died leaving us only with her greatest music.

This video takes us back to her powerful performance as she sings ‘Amazing Grace’ in front of the US President at the 2014 Women Of Soul concert at The White House. She sang this classic gospel song with so much passion and soul that will speak through the heart of everyone who hears it. Her rendition reminds us that this song is a song of celebration. It sounded like Aretha was inviting us to celebrate the grace that came to save us in our wretchedness.  This song will surely stir up the passion within your souls.

Here are some of her gospel songs to remember her legacy as the ‘Queen of Soul’.
