Muslim UN Officials Allegedly Refuse Christian Syrian Refugees Shelter and Food

Wars not only lead to death but also displacement and children suffer more than the older generation. No child should ever have to witness death and destruction before his innocent eyes but this has been the case lately in war-torn Syria.

Families displaced by war often seek shelter, receive food, and find help in refugee camps. However, life dealt with the Christian Syrian refugees differently than Muslims. They were refused food and shelter and their requests ignored by Muslim officials.

Hasan, a Syrian Christian refugee, shared that former Muslims who are now Christians were persecuted at the UN refugee camp in Jordan. He said that Muslim UN officials treated them “with persecution and mockery.”

“They didn’t let us into the office. They ignored our request,” Hasan told CBN in a phone call. He said that he and his family are now in hiding for fear that they will be arrested or killed by Jordanian police.

Timothy, another Christian Syrian refugee, said that 99 percent of UN officials in Jordan are Muslims and they treated the Christians as enemies.

There has been clear evidence of persecution by the UN refugee agency in Jordan against Christian Syrian refugees since 2013. Former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord George Carry is aware of this and wants to put an end to the persecution. He wants to know why out of the tens of thousands of Syrian refugees allowed entry into the US and Britain but less than 1 percent are Christians.

“You have this absurd situation. The scheme is set up to help Syrian refugees and the people most in need, Christians, have been genocided. They can’t even get into the UN camps to get the food. The Muslim UN guards will block you from getting in. They’ll laugh at you and mock you, and threaten you,” Lord Carry’s attorney Paul Diamond explained.

In his plight to defend the Christians, Lord Carry has announced that he is suing Britain’s Home Office alleging that the office has been biased in their treatment of the Christian refugees. He wants to find out why none of the 60,000 refugees accepted in Britain and the U.S. in 2014 were Christians. He also alleged that Western governments have been complicit in the “steady crucifixion of Middle East Christians” because they have done nothing to help the Christians, like opening a refugee camp for them. Lord Carry has also publicly asked for financial help in his suit against the British Home Office.
