Jesus is God Luke 18:19″. God became a man(as prophesied in the OT Isaiah 9:6-7), Jesus Christ, who happens to be sinless(Hebrews 7:26, Revelation 3:7) and died on a cross in your place, taking the punishment you deserved upon Himself.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
